Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky sent a message to Chinese President Xi Jinping, inviting him to dialogue.
His wife, Olena Zelenska, confirmed on Wednesday that she had passed the message on to the Chinese delegation at the Davos Forum in Switzerland.
Zelenska said during a press conference that the letter is "a gesture and an invitation to dialogue, and she hopes that this invitation will be answered."
The Chinese delegation to Davos is headed by Vice Premier Liu He.
The Ukrainian president told the "South China Morning Post" in August that he had requested a dialogue with President Xi, which he believed would be useful.
